About us

 

The objectives of MCCP are:

​

(a) To build relationships between the participating churches

(b) To share about each others life and mission

(c) To determine ways to strengthen relationships between the participating churches in the spirit of partnership in mission

(d) To discuss common issues of mission and ministry with the intention of determining practical actions that can be implemented individually or cooperatively.

(e) To agree on a small number of practical actions to carry forward aims (a) to (d) at each meeting.

General Style of the meetings

​

(a) That we affirm that contact with local churches is a very important part of the meetings.

(b) That a host country is elected in rotation.

(c) The host country will organize the meeting.

(d) The previous meeting will determine the general focus of the following meeting.

(e) That the following components be included in the first half of the meeting.

  • Sharing from churches, including issues of special concern

  • A keynote Address on a topic of concern, particularly reflecting from the perspective of the Methodist tradition.

  • Other short papers on issues of concern may be presented.

(f) That the following components be included in the second half of the meeting.​

  • General and particular discussion of topics of concern and their practical implications.

  • Discussion of other crucial and current topics

  • Decisions to be implemented by the participating churches ( on a voluntary basis ) before the next meeting.
